Worked for 3 weeks March 24, 2007 Reviewer:  Playerdark "playerdark" (Los Angeles)  See all my reviews >

I got the item from targets without problem. After hooking it up, it worked great, it appeared that my allergies got better. After 2 weeks or so I decided to clean it. I did it exactly as described. The electrical grid didn't look as dirty as in the commercial though, actually it didn't appear to be too dirty at all which leaves you with the question whether there is a lot of dirt extracted from the air at all. The pre-filter didn't seem to have collected too much dust either, which is probably normal because the mesh is rather corse and probably only filters out real big particles like hair or somesuch. Also, the red cleaning light never came on, which is supposed to come on when it's dirty.
After I put it back together it worked for a few hours and then all of a sudden it gave a horrible electrical buzz. It still seems to work but I'm not going to sit next to a device that sounds like a high voltage transformer. I will take it back to the nearest target store tomorrow and hope that the customer service works.
